GIA: Caregiver Guide • Publication Development
SCP frequently collaborates with long-time client Grantmakers In Aging (GIA) to create new learning opportunities and resources for GIA’s all-funder membership.
GIA’s Family Caregiving Funders Community – supported by The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation, Archstone Foundation, and The John A. Hartford Foundation – is a forum for funders interested in supporting caregivers through innovative programs and policy. The Community’s priorities include elevating caregiving as a funding priority, particularly among funders not traditionally involved in the space.
GIA also received funding from The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation to develop a funding guide that outlines the current funding and policy landscape and offers opportunities for the future, with particular attention to new and emerging partnerships.
Our Role
SCP interviewed 17 philanthropic leaders then wrote and designed the digital publication Care Is Fundamental: How Funders Can Accelerate Vital Progress on Caregiving.
We also planned and supported efforts disseminate the guide, including a digital sharing kit for the staff, board, and member use.
Impact
This guide amplifies one of GIA’s key messages – that aging intersects and is relevant to many different funding areas – and supports its goal to recruit a diverse pool of new allies to its work.
Since its publication, the Guide landing page has had 955 views by 585 active users and was the second most-viewed item in GIA’s resource library.
