Lisa Chippendale joined Strategic Communications & Planning (SCP) in 2000 after spending eight years working in publishing. At SCP she provides writing and editing services as well as oversight of editorial projects, such as the development, launch, and management of the John A. Hartford Foundation Health AGEnda blog.

After beginning her career in publishing with TV Guide magazine, Lisa spent three years working in scientific publishing for the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). She then moved on to Chelsea House Publishers, where she oversaw copyediting of young adult nonfiction and managed teams of freelancers throughout the book production process.

After leaving Chelsea House, Lisa became senior editor for Dream Chaser Enterprises, a start-up company in the Philadelphia area. She coordinated all aspects of editorial production for the company’s story-based mail program for children. Since 2000, Lisa has worked as an editorial consultant, providing writing and editing services for a variety of clients. She is the author of three nonfiction books for children and young adults: The San Francisco Earthquake of 1906, Triumph of the Imagination: The Story of Writer J. K. Rowling, and Yo-Yo Ma: A Cello Superstar Brings Music to the World.

Lisa holds a BA in English and a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Boston University. In addition to her editorial work, she teaches and plays violin in the Greater Philadelphia area. As a wife and mother of two, Lisa's hobbies are mostly on hold. However, juggling work and young kids does not stop her from hitting the slopes a few times in the winter and occasionally enjoying board, card and role-playing games.
